We love Christmas at St. Matt’s, and we want to invite you to celebrate with us again this year!
Christmas is all about Jesus, and the love, hope, peace and joy he brings into our lives and our world.
All our Christmas services will be in church, and most of them will also be streamed online (except our Christingle service).
Christmas Services
Christmas Nativity is a fun family service where we retell the Christmas story and have lots of fun getting involved!
We will have costumes available so children (and adults who want to!) can be part of the story, or you can come dressed up in your own costume.
Tea and coffee are served before and after the service.
Christmas Carols is a service where you can hear our amazing choir, sing some carols, listen to readings telling the Christmas story, and enjoy drinks and mince pies afterwards. It is a great way to start Christmas!
A Reflective Christmas is a service in the morning on Christmas Eve and it’s not something we have done before. Because Christmas Eve is a Sunday, we want to provide a service that is quieter and more reflective, for those who wouldn’t come to Christingle or to Midnight Communion but would like a Sunday service. Maybe you find Christmas a difficult time, or maybe you just prefer peace and calm to all the busyness and festivities. You are very welcome to join us. Please note, there won’t be any provision for children at this service.
Christingle Service is great for children if you are looking for something to do as a family on Christmas Eve afternoon that gets you in the festive spirit.
Come and join us for this short family-friendly service which has carols, a story about Jesus, and time to make your own Christingle with an orange and some sweets!
It is great for children and adults of all ages.
Midnight Communion is a reflective service with holy communion and Christmas carols to welcome in Christmas Day.
Family Christmas Celebration – Come and celebrate Jesus’ birth with us on Christmas morning!
Our 10am service will be fun and festive with carols, a short talk, and a chance to see what presents you’ve received!
