Finding us by roadFrom the A21, Tonbridge and London
Travel along the A21 until you reach signposts for Tunbridge Wells using the A26 via Southborough. As you travel on the A26, you will pass a Tesco Metro on your left and then a Lloyds TSB. At the traffic lights following, take the next road left onto Yew Tree Road.
From the A26, Crowborough and Brighton
Follow the A26 through Tunbridge Wells and continue as if you are going out of the town towards London on the A21. You will pass the Kent and Sussex Hospital on your left and then travel on towards Southborough. Continue along that road until you pass St. Johnn’s Leisure Centre on your left. You will reach a complex set of traffic lights. Go straight through the initial sets of lights and then at the final set, turn right onto Yew Tree Road.
Once on Yew Tree Road
Yew Tree Road will cross Powder Mill Lane and turn into High Brooms Road. Just before you descend down a steep hill, St. Matthew’s is on the right hand side.
Finding us by trainSt. Matthew’s is within walking distance of High Brooms station, which is on the mainline between Hastings and London Charing Cross. If you arrive from the Hastings direction, come out of the station on the side that you get off the train. If you arrive from the London direction, you will need to use the underpass to cross to the other platform before exiting the station.
Having left the station concourse, turn right onto North Farm Road and then the first left onto Highfield Road. Walk directly up a short steep hill and St. Matthew’s is at the crest of the hill in front of you.
Finding us by bus
The Arriva 281 bus goes past the church frequently (every 12 mins, Mon – Sat, every 30 mins on Sunday mornings). Ask for High Brooms Road, or High Brooms Post Office. The church is just down the road from the stop.
