Inside Out: Church Weekend Away - May 1-2

This May, St.Matt's is putting on a weekend of worship, teaching, ministry, kids' work and fellowship for anyone who attends St.Matt's.  It's an opportunity to take a little more time than usual to gather, worhsip together and have fun!

We are having a Welcome Evening on Monday 22nd March at 8pm in the Church Centre.

If you have started coming to St.Matt's in the last year and would like to find out more about our values, activities and who's who, please ask a member of the Welcome Team for an invitation or contact the church office


 

Restoration Course

Hands together

Restoration will be running an eight week course at St.Philip's, Sherwood on Saturday mornings starting Saturday 27th February.

The course is for anyone who wants to explore their emotional well-being or have any kind of mental health dfficulties.

Response to Haiti Earthquake: What we can do

In response to the earthquake in Haiti this week, we will be showing a video from Tearfund at this week's Sunday services, explaining what we can do to help.

 

Christmas Present for Pat in Peru

Pat has had some exciting news over Christmas - they have a new building for the Shalom Project in Lima.

 

Urgent Help needed at Calverley Hill Girls Hostel

Drivers are needed at 6:30pm Monday and Wednesday evenings to fetch a box of food from Marks & Spencer and deliver to the Calverley Hill Girl's Hostel (off Church Road).



 

New Wine Women's Day

On 27th February, the New Wine Women's Day will be held at Westminster Central Hall in London.   There is a group from St.Matt's travelling up to hear speakers Debra Green and Mike Pilavachi.


 

Creche Help Needed

Ballpool balls We need extra volunteers to help with our Sunday creche, either to help regularly or on a more ad-hoc basis.

Ali and Han getting married! Congratulations to our youth worker, Ali and Hannah as they tied the knot on Sunday 1st November.

 

Ray Riddall

It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that our churchwarden Ray Riddall passed away on  Monday 12th October following recent illness.  

Please keep Christine and their family in your prayers at this time.


 

Is this it? New Alpha course available now!

Alpha logo

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away.

We have a new Alpha course currently running on Tuesday evenings.

The course are open to all.

In Brief

Julie Sewell is still collecting used postage stamps (British and foreign) for the Leprosy Mission.  Please read the newsletter on the church noticeboard which thanks us, as a church, for our contributions and shows what a big difference the stamps make.

St.Matts School are collecting Sainsbury's vouchers.  If you would like to give yours to the school, then please see Cindy.

Meals for Nadine. If you would like to help support Nadine whilst she is undergoing treatment for cancer and feel able to cook a meal for her, please speak to Jane Taylor or Carole, or contact the church office.

As part of his ongoing adventure with the Anglican Church, Richard will be worshpiping in Lamberhurst during January and Hadlow during March. He will be around at St. Matt's for the 7 o'clock services each week, and for all services in February. He misses you and looks forward to a month of normality.
