In Depth: Street Pastors
06 Dec 2009
A Street Pastor is a Church leader/minister or member with a concern for society - in particular young people who feel themselves to be excluded and marginalised - and who is willing to engage people where they are, in terms of their thinking (i.e. their perspective of life) and location (i.e. where they hang out - be it on the streets, in the pubs and clubs or at parties etc).
There are over 70 street and prayer pastors in the Tunbridge Wells Street Pastors team who work with the endorsement of the local Borough Council and police
Prayer pastors pray every Friday night when the Street Pastors are out. If you feel you cannot join the Prayer pastors to pray, but would like to be involved, then you might like to pray at home during Friday nights. If you would like to be involved in this way contact the prayer co-ordinator Anglea Bacon. You can ask for her contact details through the church office.
