In Depth: Autumn Services

This autumn, services at St.Matt's will be changing as we offer an additional evening service.
We are really excited about what this means for our church life and want to bring you up to date with our plans.
At our AGM this year, we introduced some of the changes we were planning for St.Matt's this Autumn. Since then Rich has been building a team to lead the new contemporary evening service, and Fleur has begun to gather some of these involved in our more traditional evening service. Both groups have been trying to work through the issue of how we can best cater for the needs of all our members and create services that are attractive to those outside the church.
10am service
Our morning service will continue essentially unchanged. We want to keep its informal and family-friendly style.
5pm service
This will be the new time for our more traditional liturgical service. Fleur has some exciting plans to develop this including offering tea and cake before the service at 4.30 and some occasional songs of praise invitation services. The approach will continue to be more traditional and welcome.
7pm service
This is the time for the new contemporary evening service. Again, we'll be serving coffee and nice things to eat before the service from 6.30. The intention is to create a vibrant contemporary worship service that will be attractive to sections of our community we don't currently reach.
Please continue to pray for us as we finalise our plans, and watch the notice sheet and website for updates on our progress. We plan the new services on the first Sunday of September.
