Baptism marks the start of a journey of faith, which involves turning away from the darkness of self-centredness, turning towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family. At St. Matthew's we offer a choice of either a traditional Baptism service or a service of Thanksgiving.

Anyone living in the parish is entitled to be married in any of the churches in the Southborough Team Ministry. If you are an active, worshipping member of another church congregation, it is usually possible to be married there if you wish. We love to be part of your wedding day, and hope that you have a wonderful wedding day and that it will mark the beginning of a long and very happy marriage.

A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief, to give thanks for the life of someone at the end of their journey in this world and to commend them into God"s keeping.
Funerals at St Matthew's can be simple and quiet with only a few members of the family present or an occasion of great solemnity with music, hymns and a packed church.
