Church Weekend Away 2017 : Daring To Love

Guest Speaker: Nicola Neal

Nicola Neal will be speaking. Nicola and Simon Neal served on the leadership of Bath City Church for 9 years. In 2009 God called them to Uganda, where their eyes were opened to life as it really is for those living in the slums of Kampala. They became passionate about supporting people to change their lives for the better and have a real encounter with Jesus. Revelation Life Uganda is now established and serves in four slum communities.

Nicola & Simon have relocated back to the UK, setting up an international office in order to discover what God has planned for cities around the world. You can find out more about Revelation Life below.

This April St.Matt’s is putting on a weekend of worship, teaching, ministry, kids’ work and fellowship for anyone who attends St.Matt’s. It’s an opportunity to take a little more time than usual to gather, worship together and have fun!

A weekend “away” from the church we will be based locally, using the wonderful grounds of Rosehill School, which also has a swimming pool and sports facilities for us to use. There will be children’s work available during the morning teaching and worship sessions.

Revelation Life

Revelation Life – ‘Working to see families flourish, lives rebuilt and hearts changed in the slums of Kampala’

In the slums of Uganda life can be tough. Malnutrition and disease open the door for death to claim so many precious lives. The poverty cycle is unrelenting; on average, families have to survive on less than 85p a day. That’s divided into six hungry mouths to feed and six bodies to clothe and keep healthy. Often, without any money for even the most basic items, education is an unattainable stretch away. No education means no job, which in turn means no money. The cycle continues.

Our aim is to see this change, and change in the long term. We want to see slum communities transformed as they encounter the heart of Jesus and discover new ways of seeing their lives and learn new skills that give them life. We’re seeing many lives changed as they experience love through relationship, practical help, prayer and the other community development ‘self-help’ projects that we run. And as we look to the future in the issues that families face, we’re always working so that they will be in a position where they can provide for their own family’s needs.
